How does a Salted Caramel Brownie sound to you about now? Maybe you’d prefer some Key Lime Pie organic ice cream. These are just two of the amazing desserts that could be in store for you on our Dessert Tour. The Outer Banks is home to several talented dessert makers and pastry chefs, some of whose creations are becoming nationally known. On this tour, you’ll be driven to 4 shops to meet the chefs and taste samples of their sweet creations. We’ll begin at Outer Banks Epicurean, located in the Outer Banks Wedding Library, where you’ll meet local chef, caterer, and entrepreneur Amy Huggins Gaw. Amy is well known in the Outer Banks, not only for her amazing food, but also for her creation of Outer Banks Sea Salt, harvested right here in the Outer Banks. Our next stop is Zen-Pops, where owner Crystal Swain will treat you to samples of here flavor-packed organic fruit props and ice creams. Crystal will be joined by Sara Burkhimer of Kind Confections  providing you with some delicious treats from her vegan bakery. The Good Life Gourmet, a local favorite for the wide selection of pastries, is our third stop of the day. Finally, we will stop in at Sweet Maria’s Bakery, Kitty Hawk’s newest addition to the sweet scene!  Sweet Maria’s is an authentic Portuguese bakery.  Owner Maria Neves has been in the Outer Banks for many years baking for local restaurants such as the Sanderling.   So, give into these delectable temptations and spend a sweet afternoon sampling with us!
